About this role
Investigating how abuse and risk occur on the platform by analyzing logs, interviewing support and operations teams, and reconstructing user journeys forms the core of this role. As a Senior or Staff Behavioral Engineer at Suno, the focus centers on making safe behavior the default through upstream interventions rather than post-incident catching. Working at the intersection of behavioral science, product design, security, trust, and safety, this position involves redesigning flows, defaults, friction points, and incentives to prevent harmful actions before they happen.
Suno is building a creative entertainment platform aimed at bringing the joy of music-making to everyone, ranging from casual users to Grammy-winning artists. The team values ownership and intensity, operating at a fast pace to shape a new medium of entertainment. The ideal person for this position possesses deep technical fluency to dig into data independently, collaborates effectively with product and engineering partners, and brings a proven track record of reducing risky behavior through deliberate product and process design.
What you will do
- Investigate how abuse and risk occur on the platform and inside the company by reviewing logs, interviewing support teams, and reconstructing user and employee journeys.
- Design concrete changes to signup flows, permission defaults, rate limits, approval steps, and verification gates alongside product managers and designers.
- Secure roadmap prioritization from other teams by writing proposals, making cases in planning meetings, and navigating trade-offs.
- Measure shifts in real user behavior by defining success metrics prior to deployment and conducting before-and-after impact analyses.
- Lead cross-functional root-cause analyses following security incidents and near-misses to translate design vulnerabilities into backlog items.
- Monitor emerging attack patterns through industry research and behavioral science literature to implement targeted awareness and training initiatives.
- Embed trustworthy user experiences into every product development cycle to support the broader platform.
What you need

- A documented track record of successfully reducing risky behavior through product and process design, supported by measurable before-and-after results.
- Strong interpersonal and influence skills with a history of earning the trust of product, engineering, and design partners to get changes prioritized on unowned roadmaps.
Nice to have
- Formal background in behavioral science, behavioral economics, human factors, or UX research.
