Role Overview

Shield AI is hiring a Senior Staff BD Account Executive - Autonomy Specialist to manage the full sales lifecycle for Hivemind autonomy software within India. The primary focus is engaging defense and government customers to secure complex opportunities and expand strategic accounts. This position collaborates closely with internal teams such as Sales Leadership, Product, Engineering, and Strategic Engagement to align offerings with operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the entire sales lifecycle for Hivemind opportunities, ranging from initial pipeline generation to deal closure.
Formulate and implement territory and capture strategies aligned with long-term company goals.
Qualify and shape new business opportunities by understanding customer missions, budget allocations, and procurement pathways.
Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and influencers across government and defense sectors.
Direct proposal development alongside BD Operations and cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications.
Perform competitive analysis to position Hivemind effectively in multi-stakeholder scenarios.
Translate customer operational needs into technical solutions alongside Product, Engineering, and Solutions teams.
Maintain rigorous deal progression standards, including forecasting accuracy and CRM hygiene.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.

Requirements

Possess 10 to 15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or capture roles within technically complex domains like AI, machine learning, autonomy, SaaS, aerospace, or defense.
Demonstrate a proven history of closing deals, particularly within government or defense markets.
Understand defense acquisition processes and the government procurement lifecycle.
Bring experience in creating and executing capture strategies for complex pursuits.
Show technical aptitude to communicate credibly with engineering, product, and operational stakeholders.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrate fluency in English.

Nice to Have

Experience selling AI, machine learning, autonomy, or unmanned systems solutions.
Prior military background.
Existing relationships within aerospace, defense, or government customer segments.
Experience collaborating with Large Systems Integrators and strategic partners.
Capability to travel for industry events and customer engagements.
Possession of or eligibility for a security clearance.
An MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
