Role Overview

Wayve is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Platform - AI Portal in London, United Kingdom. The Portal team acts as a startup within a scale-up, managing the platform that connects Wayve to partners, handles data exchange, and enables commercial deployment of autonomy stacks. The platform engineer owns and evolves cloud infrastructure and developer tooling to support the Portal engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on Azure using Terraform for development, staging, and production environments.
Own and evolve RBAC and IAM across cloud infrastructure and application layers for a multi-tenant Portal environment.
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-based deployment workflows to increase developer velocity, reliability, and safety.
Build internal tools and observability capabilities to help engineers deliver performant and reliable software at scale.
Participate in a support and on-call rotation to respond to incidents and contribute to root cause analysis.
Apply practical security and networking knowledge to harden the platform and coach application developers on secure delivery.

Requirements

Strong hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with Azure, along with production experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
Deep RBAC and IAM knowledge at the cloud infrastructure level, with experience in application-level IAM and multi-tenant products being highly valuable.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability and safety.
Solid security and networking fundamentals with a hands-on builder approach.
Experience participating in a support or on-call rotation for incident response and investigation.
Strong communication skills with an interest in collaborating with and coaching application developers.
Ability to take ownership of outcomes, work autonomously, and bring a product mindset to developer experience.

Nice to Have

Experience across multiple cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Background in developer experience, internal tooling, or a startup or high-growth engineering environment.
