What you will do
- Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and drive them forward independently.
- Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities spanning backend services, APIs, and customer-facing interfaces.
- Design and ship full-stack features end to end across backend, frontend, and mobile environments to deliver AI-powered products.
- Partner closely with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous real-world problems into clear technical plans.
- Build and scale the underlying systems for AI-driven products, including data ingestion pipelines, APIs, and operational workflows.
- Raise technical standards across the organization through code reviews, design reviews, technical mentorship, and quality advocacy.
What you need
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or possess equivalent practical experience.
- Bring 8 or more years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale.
- Demonstrate strong full-stack fundamentals with comfort working across backend services, APIs, and web or mobile frontend systems.
- Show proficiency in modern languages and frameworks such as Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, or similar technologies.
- Possess demonstrated experience leading cross-team projects from inception through rollout while managing ambiguity and driving alignment.
- Have prior experience building AI-powered or data-driven products by turning machine learning capabilities into customer-facing applications.
- Exhibit strong communication skills capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience shipping AI-powered features in production, including LLM-based products, agentic workflows, or recommendation systems.
- Comfort utilizing modern AI-augmented development workflows like Cursor and LLMs to accelerate delivery.
- Background working with real-world operational data such as telematics, sensor data, work orders, and inspections.
- A proven track record of mentoring senior engineers and influencing engineering culture and best practices beyond a single team.
- Side projects, open-source contributions, or other external signals of curiosity and drive outside the day job.

What is the salary range for this position?
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees is $142,800 to $184,800 CAD. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
