About this role

Engineers who prefer knowing the people using their software by name and taking direct ownership of a product area from initial conversation to production will find a comfortable home here. The Data Infrastructure applications team builds the internal software that powers infrastructure planning and operations, including UNION, a data platform allowing employees to query the lakehouse in plain language and create custom dashboards, applications, and agents.

Daily work involves developing full-stack applications and UNION features, managing the backend services and frontends entirely in production, and collaborating directly with internal teams in engineering, finance, supply chain, and data center operations. Much of the role focuses on AI-facing features like natural language interfaces and governed data agents, requiring engineers to define requirements where no prior documentation exists and take full accountability when issues arise.

What you will do

  • Build full-stack applications and new features within the UNION data platform while taking end-to-end production ownership from the user interface down to the data model.
  • Design and run robust HTTP APIs that other internal services depend on, handling timeouts, retries, and data consistency during partial failures.
  • Develop and ship AI-backed features to production, including natural language interfaces, agents, and the evaluation frameworks needed to measure output accuracy.
  • Collaborate directly with non-engineering stakeholders across finance, supply chain, and operations to define unwritten requirements and build adopted software solutions.
  • Manage relational databases with strong SQL skills, including modifying live schemas and connecting applications to analytical databases and data platforms.
  • Handle continuous integration, automated testing, observability, and on-call rotations for all owned software services.

What you need

  • Bring at least 5 years of professional experience building and operating production software that includes both backend services and modern web frontends.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with hands-on experience in React, Next.js, or comparable modern web frameworks.
  • Possess solid experience designing and operating reliable HTTP APIs and managing relational data models with SQL in production environments.
  • Have documented experience shipping LLM-backed features to production, complete with testing and output evaluation methods.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of containerization and deployment tooling such as Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Show a history of working directly with non-technical partners to specify and deliver software solutions for undefined business problems.

Nice to have

  • Experience building AI-native applications such as text-to-SQL interfaces, copilots, agents, or automated insight generation.
  • Familiarity with agent frameworks like LangGraph, along with associated tracing and evaluation tools.
  • Experience designing and running distributed systems in cloud-native environments like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with open table formats such as Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi, and query engines like StarRocks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  • Background in building internal platforms or working in operationally heavy domains like capacity planning, supply chain, or finance.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance - 100% paid for by CoreWeave
  • Company-paid Life Insurance and voluntary supplemental life insurance
  • Short and long-term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and Health Savings Account
  • Tuition Reimbursement and ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
  • Mental Wellness Benefits through Spring Health and family-forming support provided by Carrot
  • Paid Parental Leave, flexible childcare support, 401(k) with employer match, and flexible PTO
