About this role

Engineers who treat AI as a native part of their daily workflow and possess deep expertise in Java, React, and identity management will find a natural home on this team. The DigiCert Platform group builds and maintains the core infrastructure powering every product across the company, managing critical identity and access management functions at enterprise scale. Contributors in this role handle end-to-end development of Java backend services, React frontends, and IAM flows while actively integrating AI coding agents and LLM capabilities into real product experiences.

This high-stakes environment demands engineers who thrive on foundational platform challenges and maintain rigorous security standards. Ideal candidates bring a strong background in distributed systems, cloud-native tools, and security engineering to help evolve the platform while mentoring junior colleagues.

What you will do

  • Design and develop robust Java backend services and RESTful APIs while establishing code quality standards across the team.
  • Build and maintain complex full-stack features spanning Java services and React user interfaces from conception to production.
  • Architect secure identity and access management flows including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML within multi-tenant architectures.
  • Drive continuous integration and deployment maturity by improving pipelines and defining deployment strategies across services.
  • Operate production infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools with a focus on reliability and cost.
  • Integrate AI coding agents and LLM capabilities into daily development workflows and platform features.
  • Mentor team members through code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical guidance while overseeing observability and incident response.

What you need

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience with tenure in platform or identity-adjacent domains.
  • Daily and fluent use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude as part of the software development lifecycle.
  • Expert-level Java development skills including Spring Boot, microservices patterns, and performance tuning.
  • Strong React engineering experience building complex user interfaces with modern hooks and state management.
  • Deep production-grade knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and enterprise identity providers like Okta or Azure AD.
  • Solid command of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL including schema design and query optimization.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Helm.

Nice to have

  • Experience with event-driven architectures like Kafka for real-time security event processing
  • Familiarity with digital certificates, PKI, or the DigiCert ONE trust platform
  • Familiarity with agentic AI workflows and tools that utilize LLMs or function calling
  • Experience building or operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms with strict isolation requirements
  • Track record of introducing AI-first development practices to an engineering team

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Retirement savings programs with company matching
  • Generous paid time off, holidays, and vacation
  • Paid parental leave and family support benefits
  • Education assistance and professional development opportunities
  • Employee referral bonus program and wellness support
