This full-time Senior Software Engineer (DCIE) position is based in San Francisco, California, within Crusoe's Cloud Engineering team. The role is well-suited for a hands-on engineer with four to six years of experience looking to build advanced software for high-performance GPU infrastructure.

Role Overview

Crusoe is hiring a skilled Software Engineer to support its Data Center Infrastructure Engineering team. The professional in this position will create software to manage a large fleet of GPU servers and the data centers housing them. The primary focus involves designing deep diagnostic, observability, automation, and repair software for high-performance GPU compute clusters to maintain system health and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Build and execute deep-level hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting tools for GPU racks and high-density compute systems.
Create troubleshooting and automation applications for GPU platforms, including NVIDIA A100, H200, GB200, B200, and AMD 350X / 355X hardware.
Design automation software and AI agents to run component-level diagnoses and fix failed or degraded hardware.
Partner with data center operations to invent innovative tooling and AI agents for managing critical environments.
Construct post-repair validation and testing tools, such as burn-in software, PyTorch, and NVIDIA NCCL, to guarantee system stability and performance.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, and support of developed tooling to maximize GPU fleet availability.
Implement automation and operational software for facilities management power and direct liquid cooling hardware systems.

Requirements

Four to six years of professional software engineering background.
Capability to spot issues, design scalable solutions quickly, and ship them effectively.
Skill to assist teammates on complex technical initiatives and guide project technical direction.
Deep understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and cloud platforms like Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and GCP.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Python, Java, or Rust.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Comfort working independently and within a team setting.

Nice to Have

Practical background using Temporal and Kubernetes.
Previous experience collaborating directly with hardware vendors.
Familiarity with large-scale GPU fleet operations or hyperscale data center ecosystems.

Annual compensation ranging from $170,000 to $205,000 plus bonus, determined by knowledge, education, abilities, and internal equity.
