Role Overview

Sezzle is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a remote position based in Türkiye, working on a fixed schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST to support operations in the United States and Canada. This senior development role offers a high degree of autonomy and authority to identify and solve infrastructure, deployment, and operational challenges. The position requires at least six years of professional experience and a hands-on approach to building robust, scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, upgrade, and build scalable infrastructure solutions utilizing Kubernetes, AWS, and modern distributed patterns.
Drive the infrastructure roadmap to achieve higher levels of reliability, recoverability, and scalability.
Lead capacity planning, benchmarking, and system stress testing to identify bottlenecks and prepare for business growth.
Define, maintain, and enforce service level agreements and alerts across the infrastructure.
Lead AI enablement efforts by applying automation and artificial intelligence to improve infrastructure reliability and developer productivity.
Establish engineering best practices for security, observability, and continuous integration and deployment across teams.
Mentor fellow engineers and foster an operational culture focused on learning and innovation.

Requirements

Six or more years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience with a strong focus on SRE and backend development.
Proven track record of deploying significant changes to production applications or infrastructure configurations recently.
Strong proficiency in Golang, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Expertise in SQL-based relational database management systems such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, along with query and schema optimization.
Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns, including event-driven architecture, stream processing, and the transactional outbox pattern.
Demonstrated experience utilizing large language model tools like Claude to enhance research, communication, and productivity.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS Aurora RDS for both MySQL and Postgres.
Background in data engineering, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized microservices deployment in Kubernetes.
Exposure to AI developer tools such as Cursor, Gemini CLI, Codex, and Claude Code.
