Senior Revenue Accountant
About this role
Executing month-end close activities, managing revenue recognition under ASC 606, and preparing financial reporting deliverables constitute the core daily responsibilities for this position. Operating within a rapidly scaling revenue accounting environment, the team handles evolving product SKUs, new go-to-market strategies, system migrations, and shifting policy requirements. Individuals joining this group will drive end-to-end close processes, apply precise accounting judgment to non-standard customer contracts, pull and validate underlying system data, and leverage AI tools alongside SQL to automate repetitive tasks.
This role exists to support continuous financial scaling and process optimization as the broader data and AI ecosystem expands. Ideal candidates possess a builder's mentality, combining deep technical knowledge of complex revenue accounting with a proactive drive to identify operational bottlenecks and implement systematic fixes. Professionals who thrive in ambiguity, manage shifting priorities effectively, and partner seamlessly across cross-functional departments like Revenue Operations and FP&A will find success here.
What you will do
- Execute monthly close procedures including usage reviews, journal entries, flux analyses, and account reconciliations while continuously compressing the timeline.
- Apply ASC 606 standards to customer contracts by assessing non-standard terms, documenting accounting conclusions, and navigating evolving policy interpretations.
- Validate and troubleshoot contract details, system outputs, and data discrepancies independently without relying on pre-packaged datasets.
- Identify manual workflows and champion automation solutions by writing SQL queries, building scripts, or partnering with engineering teams.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and large language models to draft memos, summarize contract terms, and accelerate routine accounting tasks.
- Prepare key financial metrics, statement disclosures, and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate across departments such as Deal Desk, Billing, and Revenue Operations to support scalability and new business initiatives.
- Prepare workpapers, document internal controls, and liaise with auditors to support the annual audit process.
What you need
- Hold a Bachelor's degree with a primary emphasis in Finance or Accounting.
- Demonstrate at least five years of combined professional experience in public accounting or corporate revenue accounting.
- Maintain a solid understanding of ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition principles with the ability to apply judgment to non-standard arrangements.
- Bring operational accounting background from a rapidly growing company, including familiarity with quote-to-cash processes.
- Show proficiency with complex Excel spreadsheets, NetSuite, and Salesforce systems.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Nice to have
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Database and SQL experience for direct data querying
- Track record of identifying inefficiencies and building automation solutions
