Role Overview

As a Senior Production Engineer, the focus is on ensuring the reliability and scalability of Crusoe’s AI-optimized cloud platform. The position centers on delivering highly available, performant, and cost-efficient AI infrastructure designed to power compute-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Design and operate reliable managed AI services with an emphasis on serving and scaling large language model workloads.
Define, measure, and improve Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives to guarantee that performance and reliability targets are met.
Partner with AI, platform, and infrastructure teams to optimize large-scale training and inference clusters.
Automate observability by creating telemetry and performance tuning strategies specifically for latency-sensitive services.
Troubleshoot and resolve reliability issues across distributed AI systems utilizing telemetry, logs, and profiling.
Shape the architecture of next-generation distributed systems built purposely for AI-first environments.

Requirements

Strong software engineering foundation with experience creating production-grade systems beyond basic scripting or Bash.
Demonstrated background in distributed systems design and implementation.
Site Reliability Engineering mindset, covering SLI/SLO definition, observability systems, and performance improvements.
Experience designing fault-tolerant systems and automated testing strategies.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
Familiarity with Kubernetes or alternative container orchestration platforms.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills combined with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $170,000 to $205,000, determined by factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and market alignment. Additional offerings include:
