Crusoe is seeking a full-time Senior Production Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering department in Dublin. Role Overview

The Senior Production Engineer operates at the core of Crusoe's mission to build an energy-efficient, AI-optimized cloud platform. In this position, the engineer helps ensure the scalability, availability, and performance of distributed systems that support demanding AI workloads. By tackling complex production challenges, the professional reduces operational toil and drives continuous system improvements alongside cross-functional engineering groups.

Key Responsibilities

Define, measure, and evolve availability metrics, service level indicators, and service level objectives for the cloud platform.
Handle production incident response, diagnose service disruptions, and participate in thorough root cause analyses.
Build, operate, and enhance observability systems across infrastructure using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and OpenTelemetry.
Spot reliability risks, performance bottlenecks, and potential production failures within distributed architectures.
Create automation and tooling to support self-healing infrastructure and accelerate recovery times.
Collaborate closely with compute, networking, storage, and platform teams to boost service resilience and disaster recovery options.
Share operational knowledge and reliability best practices throughout the engineering organization.

Requirements

Bring at least 5 years of professional background in Production Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or large-scale infrastructure operations.
Experience supporting high-performance computing environments, GPU workloads, or latency-sensitive distributed systems.
Solid command of Linux and Unix systems, including the capability to debug complex issues across user and kernel space.
Background in managing or building storage, compute, or networking platforms in infrastructure roles.
Familiarity with modern cloud architecture fundamentals, virtualization, distributed systems, and platforms such as AWS or GCP.
Knowledge of reliability frameworks and incident management practices.
Working knowledge of monitoring suites like Grafana and Prometheus.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Scripting or programming proficiency in languages including Python, Go, C, or C++.
Clear communication abilities and the capability to stay calm during high-impact production troubleshooting.

Nice to Have

Practical background working with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms at a large scale.
Exposure to operational readiness reviews, structured root cause analysis, or formal change management processes.
Experience creating event-driven operational tooling or automated remediation and self-healing systems.
Keen interest in scaling artificial intelligence or HPC infrastructure within GPU-dense environments.
Enthusiasm for mentorship, continuous learning, and mastering production engineering.
