Role Overview

Engine is hiring a Senior Product Manager to join the Applied AI team on a remote basis within the United States. The position focuses on developing internal automation and tools to make internal business operations significantly faster and more scalable. The professional in this role will embed directly within a business function to identify manual bottlenecks and implement AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Shadow staff members to map out operational steps, handoffs, and delays in current workflows.
Select specific repetitive and high-volume workloads to automate in collaboration with functional leaders.
Establish and baseline operational metrics, such as cycle times, before any engineering work begins.
Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy automation tools that handle large volumes of internal requests.
Utilize AI agents and tools to accelerate analysis, prototyping, and documentation processes.
Outline initial release plans, target users, and rollout strategies for each functional tool.
Transition completed workflows to a designated owner within the business function.
Evaluate metrics continuously and make decisions to adjust or terminate projects that fail to move performance targets.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of product management experience, focusing on internal tools, workflow products, or operations.
Demonstrated history of shipping at least one AI or automation product into production.
Ability to analyze complex business processes and eliminate time-consuming steps.
Experience spending initial onboarding periods observing operational teams like support agents or accountants.
Competence in measuring baseline cycle times and accounting for resource costs, including model spend and engineering hours.
Familiarity with large language models, agent capabilities, failure modes, evaluations, and human-in-the-loop reviews.
Capability to influence cross-functional leaders and manage project scope.
