Role Overview
Airwallex is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the AI Risk and Merchant Onboarding strategy in Singapore. The professional in this role will define how businesses interact with the platform initially by combining fast merchant verification with advanced fraud detection.
Key Responsibilities
Own the strategy and product roadmap for merchant onboarding, risk decisioning, and associated user experiences.
Map and optimize the journey from initial discovery and sign-up through verification, activation, and adoption.
Build artificial intelligence capabilities to interpret business context, highlight signals, and detect risk patterns early.
Partner with engineering, data science, and risk teams to develop agents that spot compromised accounts and prohibited selling activities.
Translate insights into real-time actions using risk models for reviews, step-ups, restrictions, or approvals.
Design protective risk workflows that minimize unnecessary friction for legitimate merchants.
Develop intelligent payment-method recommendations balancing risk, cost, conversion rate, and experience.
Utilize analytics and customer research to prioritize opportunities and resolve onboarding and payment pain points.
Run experiments and A/B tests to improve user experience, verification outcomes, and conversion rates.
Establish feedback loops between product performance, operational review, model outcomes, and merchant experience.
Communicate product strategy, trade-offs, and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Requirements
Five or more years of product management experience taking products from ideation through delivery and optimization.
Background in owning product strategy, roadmap planning, discovery, and execution for customer-facing or platform products.
Knowledge of experimentation, analytics, user journeys, and outcome-based product development.
Experience collaborating with engineering, data science, design, risk, compliance, or operations teams.
Ability to translate complex technical, data, or risk concepts into simple product experiences and clear decisions.
Communication and stakeholder management skills to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to Have
Experience in onboarding, fraud prevention, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, account security, payments, or financial crime risk.
Background in building or scaling AI/ML-powered products, decisioning systems, recommendation engines, or agentic workflows.
Understanding of using AI to discover merchant context, detect anomalies, and support real-time risk decisions.
Familiarity with payment-method optimization, routing, authorization, or payment performance metrics.
Experience in high-growth technology companies, global product environments, or multi-market regulatory settings.
