Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Product Management, this role requires managing the strategy and roadmap for a core product area at Payscale. The individual will connect customer needs, market trends, and business priorities into a clear, prioritized plan while utilizing technical fluency to direct AI-assisted development. This position operates on an employee-centric hybrid model, allowing remote work with occasional in-person collaboration at the Bucharest Office.

Key Responsibilities

Own the strategy, roadmap, and prioritized backlog for the assigned product area, connecting market trends and business priorities into actionable plans.
Rapidly prototype and validate new product concepts using AI-assisted tools like Claude, Cursor, or v0 to move from idea to working proof of concept.
Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and design teams to build functional prototypes into production-ready features.
Assess value, build business cases, and prioritize user stories, epics, and themes to maintain focus on strategic goals.
Align stakeholders on priorities and relative investment, communicating feature plans and delivery timelines effectively across teams.
Monitor competitive positioning, feature sets, and messaging to inform roadmap decisions.
Partner with product marketing to shape packaging and go-to-market strategies for new platform capabilities.

Requirements

5+ years of experience working as a technical Product Manager or Product Owner, ideally building software within the data or analytics space.
Demonstrated track record of defining product strategy and establishing clear product principles.
Experience driving cross-functional product initiatives that produce clear user and business outcomes.
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development or prototyping tools such as Claude, Cursor, or v0 to build and test concepts quickly.
Comfort operating with less upfront documentation, favoring working prototypes and iterative validation over detailed specs.
Strong technical fluency in data and analytic platforms, paired with effective communication skills for engineers, architects, and scientists.
Superior project management skills and an ability to lead teams toward shared goals.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities to articulate complex ideas and business cases.
Demonstrated market success in managing existing products and optimizing their performance.

Salary and Benefits

Annual Salary: 20,000 to 25,000 RON.
