Role Overview

The Senior People Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to leadership, embedding deeply with managers to drive clarity, structure, and rigor across the organization. This position centers on building effective teams, designing organizational structures, and implementing talent strategies that support a high-performing culture. Candidates will operate with strong business judgment, anticipating challenges and partnering closely with leaders to navigate complex organizational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted strategic people partner to leadership by translating business context into proactive people priorities.
Provide data-driven advice on organizational design, succession planning, retention, engagement, and performance.
Build management capacity by equipping leaders with skills for hiring, expectation setting, and team development.
Collaborate with Talent, Finance, and leadership on headcount planning, tracking, and annual planning cycles.
Support change management initiatives to help cross-functional teams navigate evolving strategies and structures.
Drive a high-performance culture through regular performance reviews, accountability measures, and rigorous performance management.
Handle high-stakes employee matters while balancing risk management and compliance with a human-centric approach.
Advise on role architecture, career pathing, promotion readiness, and retention strategies for top talent and flight risks.
Collaborate with Compensation on salary benchmarking, equity strategy, and internal equity.
Partner with People Operations and Workplace Experience to manage lifecycle execution and office environments.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of progressive People Business Partner experience supporting management levels from frontline to VP across various functions.
Direct experience helping organizations of 400+ employees scale rapidly with expertise in talent strategy and leadership development.
Strong business acumen and the ability to quickly establish credibility and context within supported functions.
Proven capability to manage complex people decisions with speed, sound judgment, and risk awareness.
Analytical, first-principles thinking to diagnose root causes and design scalable, simple processes.
Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, high-growth environments characterized by ambiguity and ownership.
Clear written and verbal communication skills designed to build trust and align stakeholders.
Availability to work in-person at least 3 days per week in the San Francisco office.
