Key Responsibilities

Design and construct backend services utilizing Golang to interface directly with payment gateways, card networks, and processors.
Manage end-to-end financial workflows encompassing authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and chargeback handling.
Implement fault-tolerant, idempotent, and auditable transaction processing inside a distributed framework using message queues like Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
Ensure operational adherence to PCI DSS protocols, handling tokenization, network tokens, secure payment data storage, and 3DS or SCA flows.
Monitor payment health metrics including latency, decline rates, processor efficiency, and settlement accuracy to drive continuous platform optimization.
Integrate artificial intelligence tooling, such as Claude and similar large language models, into daily workflows for accelerated coding, design, research, and documentation.
Mentor fellow engineers, unblock peers, and occasionally guide small project teams toward successful delivery.

Requirements

Bring 7 or more years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, with a specific focus on fintech, payments, or money-movement infrastructure.
Demonstrate strong proficiency in Go, or comparable hands-on experience using Python to build and serve REST APIs.
Possess practical background in integrating with acquiring systems, gateways, or payment processors alongside a solid grasp of fundamental payments concepts.
Display experience working within distributed cloud-based architectures utilizing queuing mechanisms or transactional outbox patterns.
Show proven, hands-on utilization of Claude or equivalent large language models to enhance daily productivity and research.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related academic field.

Nice to Have

Direct encounters working within the payments acquiring ecosystem involving platforms like Adyen, Stripe, Marqeta, or Fiserv.
Exposure to payments compliance, network tokenization, 3DS or SCA, and PCI DSS regulations.
Familiarity with SQL-based relational databases through object-relational mapping tools.
Utilization of observability tools and platforms such as Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic for production alerting and code instrumentation.
DevOps and CI/CD pipeline capabilities alongside containerized microservice deployments utilizing Kubernetes on AWS.
A proven history of shipping commercial payment APIs and prioritizing product enhancements based on customer feedback.
