Key Responsibilities

Design and develop robust backend services primarily using Golang to integrate smoothly with card networks, payment processors, and gateways.
Manage end-to-end money-movement mechanisms covering authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and chargebacks.
Construct fault-tolerant and idempotent transaction workflows using distributed architecture patterns and message queues like Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
Operate securely within PCI DSS frameworks, applying tokenization, network tokens, and 3DS/SCA flows where appropriate.
Monitor and measure payment health metrics including decline rates, authorization success, processor latency, and settlement precision.
Integrate AI tooling such as Claude into daily developer workflows to enhance research, documentation, coding, and design.
Mentor fellow engineers, unblock peers, and occasionally lead small project teams to successful delivery.

Requirements

Seven or more years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, with a strong focus on fintech, payments, or money-movement ecosystems.
Proficiency in Golang or demonstrable background in Python for building REST APIs.
Hands-on background connecting with acquiring systems, gateways, or payment processors, along with a firm grasp of reconciliation, idempotency, and chargebacks.
Practical familiarity with cloud-based distributed systems utilizing transactional outbox patterns or queuing technologies.
Demonstrated, hands-on utilization of Claude or comparable large language models to boost daily output and research.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.

Nice to Have

Direct encounters with acquiring networks such as Adyen, Stripe, Marqeta, or Fiserv.
Familiarity with PCI DSS compliance, 3DS/SCA, and network tokenization.
Competence in SQL relational databases managed via ORM tools.
Utilization of monitoring platforms like Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic for alerting and production instrumentation.
DevOps background encompassing CI/CD pipelines, containerized microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS.
