Ensure adherence to PCI DSS standards through secure handling of payment data, tokenization methods, network tokens, and 3DS/SCA procedures.
Monitor and evaluate payment health indicators, such as processor latency, authorization or decline percentages, and settlement precision.
Utilize large language models like Claude daily for development, architecture design, research, and documentation while obeying internal security parameters.
Mentor teammates and contribute to elevating the technical capabilities and standards across the engineering department.

Seven or more years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development, with a strong focus on fintech, payments, or money-movement ecosystems.
Proficiency in Go, or equivalent practical experience using Python to build and serve RESTful APIs.
Direct, hands-on background connecting software with payment gateways, acquiring systems, or payment processors.
Deep understanding of core financial concepts including authorization, settlement, idempotency, tokenization, chargebacks, and reconciliation.
Practical experience designing distributed and cloud-native systems implementing transactional outbox patterns or queuing technologies.
Demonstrated capability using Claude or comparable large language models to boost daily productivity, communication, and research.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.

Nice to Have

Direct working knowledge of payment acquiring platforms like Adyen, Stripe, Marqeta, or Fiserv.
Familiarity with PCI DSS regulations, 3DS/SCA frameworks, network tokenization, and compliance.
Competency with SQL-based relational databases using Object-Relational Mapping tools.
Experience with observability instruments and monitoring dashboards like Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic.
Background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deploying containerized microservices via Kubernetes on AWS.
A proven history of releasing commercial payment APIs and driving improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
