About this role

Role Overview

Crusoe seeks an experienced Senior Network Production Operations Engineer to join the Network Operations team in Dublin. This full-time role focuses on implementing and operating global edge, backbone, and data center networks for high-performance computing clusters powered by GPUs.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor network performance while conducting advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.
Implement network changes across datacenters, edge, and backbone infrastructure to scale capacity and boost reliability.
Manage and optimize the entire company network, including frontend, backend, backbone, edge, and public cloud connectivity.
Partner with network engineers and cross-functional departments to align network capabilities with business requirements.
Lead operational excellence projects by designing monitoring and alerting systems to maintain high network availability.
Mentor fellow engineers, establish documentation best practices, and drive operational readiness and incident response.
Oversee vendor relationships and contracts concerning network equipment and services.
Deliver detailed metrics, performance analysis, and event statistics to maintain visibility into overall network health.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation for network operations.

Requirements

Ten years of relevant experience working in production environments at scale.
Deep knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, QoS, and MPLS technologies.
Familiarity with monitoring protocols and tools including SNMP, IPFIX, NetFlow/sFlow, and telemetry.
Understanding of edge, backbone, and data center network architecture.
Experience using scripting or programming languages like Python to build tooling and automate operational workflows.
Hands-on background utilizing major hardware devices from vendors like Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and Mellanox.
Working knowledge of mainstream commercial switch and router chipsets.
Understanding of public cloud connectivity options for platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure alongside IPv4 and IPv6 coexistence technologies.
Experience with network observability, flow analytics, and dashboard platforms like Grafana, Kentik, and ThousandEyes.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with backend technologies such as InfiniBand, RoCE, or Spectrum-X.
