About this role

Weave is seeking a Senior ML - GenAI Engineer, Voice and Speech for a fully remote position based in India. This role is ideal for experienced machine learning professionals who want to build scalable artificial intelligence platforms and voice-driven applications.

Role Overview

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will join a cross-functional agile team to develop machine learning infrastructure, tooling, and models. The team focuses on making artificial intelligence approachable and empowering developers to safely integrate advanced AI features into customer-facing products. Working closely with product owners, backend engineers, and stakeholders, the incumbent will design resilient services to handle large datasets and traffic. This position operates remotely from India with an expectation to overlap with US business hours and reports directly to the Manager of Machine Learning.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop machine learning infrastructure, tooling, and models to support team deliveries.
Build internal products and platforms allowing teams to incorporate AI into customer-facing features.
Consult with development teams to guide them through machine learning patterns, anti-patterns, and trade-offs.
Construct scalable, resilient services supporting data integration, event processing, and platform extensions.
Write clean, testable, performant, and sustainable code while holding accountability for output quality.
Coach and collaborate with team members to share expertise and encourage engineering best practices.
Translate complex product goals into actionable engineering plans alongside stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence, with a preference for natural language focus.
Demonstrated background in moving and storing terabytes of data or processing hundreds of millions to billions of records.
Experience building and deploying machine learning-driven B2B multi-tenant applications in enterprise-grade production environments.
Practical knowledge of common machine learning technologies such as Python, Jupyter, workflow engines, DVC, Triton Server, Large Language Models, and Postgres.
Familiarity with modern AI techniques including Retrieval-Augmented Generation, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model evaluations, and multi-modal models.
Understanding of distributed systems, scalable services, and designing systems for distributed datasets.
Experience deploying solutions across public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.

Nice to Have

Background in data analysis, visualization, and presentation.
Three or more years of engineering and systems experience with strong proficiency in coding and system design.
Experience with low-latency natural language models and pipelines at scale.
Practical knowledge of real-time audio models and voice use cases including transcription, ASR pipelines, interruption detection, audio alignment, and speech synthesis.
Familiarity with emerging tools such as Model Context Protocol and containers like Kubernetes or GKE.
