Role Overview

Databricks is hiring a Senior Manager for Forward Deployed Engineering in the United Arab Emirates. The person in this role will lead a team of AI and Forward Deployed Engineers to help strategic enterprise clients implement lakehouse architectures and artificial intelligence systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage regional performance targets including hiring, team growth, and billable utilisation while maintaining customer success.
Collaborate with Account Executives and Engagement Managers to deliver professional services programs for data migrations and artificial intelligence platforms.
Implement project oversight, quality standards, and risk management practices for the engineering practice.
Serve as the executive escalation point to resolve critical customer situations and maintain strategic relationships.
Coach and mentor technical talent through structured career paths and technical guidance.

Requirements

People leadership experience managing professional services organisations, solution architects, or technical delivery teams.
Background as an individual contributor working as a data engineer, AI engineer, or technical solutions architect.
Track record of leading enterprise-scale artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data platform migration programs.
Stakeholder management skills and executive presence to influence stakeholders at the C-suite level.
Knowledge of the modern data and artificial intelligence ecosystem, including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, or Databricks.
