About this role
The Forward Deployed AI Engineering team builds first-of-its-kind artificial intelligence applications and generative AI solutions for enterprise clients. Databricks needs a senior manager in London to direct this customer-facing professional services unit, scaling the local team and guiding major accounts through complex technical transformations. Daily responsibilities include mentoring data scientists and machine learning engineers, aligning strategy with sales leadership, and partnering with product and research groups to influence the company roadmap.
Candidates should possess a strong background in team management and technical leadership within cloud environments. An ideal applicant balances deep expertise in machine learning with the ability to cultivate executive relationships and drive revenue metrics.
What you will do
- Manage, hire, and scale a team of high-performing data scientists and machine learning engineers.
- Cultivate executive relationships with EMEA stakeholders and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
- Collaborate with field engineering and sales leaders to define joint account strategies and delivery coordination.
- Design scalable engagement models and reusable solutions for global repeatability.
- Partner with product, research, and go-to-market teams to share customer insights that inform the product roadmap.
- Own objectives and key results relating to services-led accounts, revenue, utilisation, and public references.
What you need
- Extensive experience managing, hiring, and building technical teams of data scientists and machine learning engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to scope, sell, and guide technical engagements within enterprise environments.
- Deep technical expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and data science.
- Experience leading teams that build production machine learning solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven success developing strategies with senior executive stakeholders to align technical vision and program goals.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally with sales, product, and go-to-market teams.
