Role Overview

Preply is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Platform/Ops Engineer for its London location to work at the intersection of machine learning, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure. The professional in this position will enable fast, secure, and reproducible model development from training to deployment while collaborating with ML scientists, backend engineers, and data engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain machine learning pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment using technology such as Databricks, MLFlow, Airflow, DBT, Sagemaker, and Tecton.
Support AI scientists in creating reproducible, containerized model training environments and manage compute at scale including spot and GPU autoscaling.
Define and implement observability and alerting for machine learning systems covering model drift, data quality, and feature coverage.
Design and scale data ingestion and feature transformation flows utilizing batch and streaming methods.
Contribute to internal Python libraries and platform tooling to accelerate experimentation and deployment across model teams.
Ensure machine learning services remain modular, testable, and monitored from inception.
Explore and productionize large language model based features such as retrieval pipelines, prompt evaluation, and model serving.

Requirements

Five or more years of relevant experience designing and deploying machine learning systems in production environments.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Kubeflow, or Dagster.
Familiarity with modern cloud platforms like GCP or AWS, alongside Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows.
Comprehensive understanding of machine learning model lifecycles encompassing training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
Strong DevOps practices including Git, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, logging, observability, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
Ability to work independently with machine learning scientists and mentor peers in reliability, testing, and delivery.
Exposure to large language model serving, vector databases, or generative AI powered product flows, alongside hands-on expertise in AI tools.
