Role Overview

Preply seeks a Senior Data Scientist for Marketing to join the data team in Berlin. The position focuses on building, scaling, and evolving marketing mix models, driving experimentation, and partnering with finance and marketing teams to guide strategy and budget allocation.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end Marketing Mix Model, expanding it from a US model to a global, hierarchical setup and automating budget allocation.
Partner with performance marketing and finance to translate model outputs into strategic budget decisions.
Steer the testing roadmap by designing and executing incrementality tests, geo experiments, and causal inference methods.
Create a unified measurement framework combining marketing mix modeling, attribution, and incrementality.
Expand causal inference applications into the experimentation platform, forecasting, and risk management with finance and product.
Build and scale a full-stack self-service platform for budget planning and incrementality testing alongside engineers and marketing.
Collaborate with data engineering to construct scalable pipelines and evolve the ETL stack.

Requirements

Experience utilizing AI to automate tasks and work efficiently.
Hands-on experience developing Marketing Mix Models through iterative testing.
Strong background in Bayesian statistics applied to marketing mix modeling and causal inference.
Proven ability to communicate technical model results to marketing and finance stakeholders.
Expertise in designing and evaluating incrementality tests and A/B experiments.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
Advanced written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to Have

Previous experience with causal inference techniques such as geo-lift testing, causal impact, synthetic control, and difference in differences.
Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, and Looker.
Experience using Apache Spark.
Knowledge of data orchestration tools including dbt and Airflow.
Background in marketplaces, digital businesses, or performance marketing.
