Role Overview

The Senior FullStack Engineer position at Grafana Labs is a remote opportunity based in Canada within the EST time zone, tailored for engineers skilled in building cloud integrations and observability applications. This role suits professionals eager to drive end-to-end features, contribute to open-source systems, and leverage modern AI-assisted development tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Build and scale infrastructure observability features within Grafana Cloud across the entire software stack.
Deliver features end to end, moving from user-facing UI elements to backend services, dashboards, and alerts.
Own software projects completely, covering initial problem statements, user discussions, production deployment, and verification.
Represent the team externally by writing design proposals, conducting product demos, and making roadmap cases.
Take part in the on-call rotation for the services managed by the team.

Requirements

Product-focused mindset with experience working across both frontend and backend systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript, React, and Golang, or comparable language experience.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, and large language model workflows.
Working knowledge of the observability ecosystem, including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, and alerting.
Strong written communication skills to handle documentation, pull requests, and distributed team collaboration.

Nice to Have

Contributions to or maintenance of Open Source projects with successful community collaboration.
Background in developing developer tooling for large user bases.
Experience constructing Grafana plugins, apps, dashboards, or using Grafana Alloy and OpenTelemetry Collector.
Skills in writing Jsonnet or other configuration-as-code languages.
Prior experience being on-call for instrumented systems.

Salary and Benefits

Base compensation range for Canada spans from CAD $164,490 to CAD $197,389, with actual pay depending on level, experience, and skillset.
Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) provided for company ownership and shared outcomes.
Global annual leave policy offering 30 days per year, including 3 designated Grafana Shutdown Days.
Company-funded usage budget for modern AI coding assistants and frontier models.
