Goodnotes is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a 12-month fixed-term contract based full-time at the London Paddington office. This role suits an analytical professional ready to operate in an early-stage, startup-like environment embedded within an AI-native product team.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with go-to-market, product, and engineering teams to define success metrics, measure opportunities, and link product metrics directly to revenue.
Design and evaluate experiments with statistical rigor while establishing standardized testing practices across squads.
Collaborate with engineering on tracking plans and event taxonomies to guarantee features are measurable before launch.
Conduct deep-dive investigations into user funnels, cohorts, activation rates, and retention to generate practical business recommendations.
Empower product managers and leaders by building self-serve reporting frameworks and playbooks that eliminate analytics bottlenecks.
Proactively identify crucial questions for the product organization and determine when insights are reliable enough to trigger action.

Requirements

Significant background in product analytics within transactional, marketplace, or product-led growth SaaS environments.
Deep familiarity with running and interpreting experiments while avoiding common statistical failure modes.
Strong instrumentation skills, including defining tracking plans and working with event taxonomies alongside engineering.
Hands-on experience within AI-native product organizations building scalable agentic workflows.
Proficiency in writing SQL queries alongside Python or R for independent data analysis.
Proven history of developing scalable frameworks that enable other team members to operate independently.
Excellent communication abilities and comfort operating autonomously within ambiguous settings.

Nice to Have

Background working in productivity SaaS companies.
Knowledge of semantic layers, dbt, and governed self-serve analytics stacks like Looker, LightDash, or Hex.
Experience applying causal inference methods beyond standard A/B testing.
Practical history setting up experimentation platforms such as Eppo or Statsig.
Familiarity with product analytics software like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Firebase.
