Role Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist on Content + Social, the professional establishes the analytical foundation for how people discover, listen to, share, and engage with music on the platform. The role collaborates across content experiences, social features, and artist development. Responsibilities include defining metrics for healthy social engagement, understanding creator success, and partnering with product and engineering teams to turn strategic insights into execution.

Key Responsibilities

Build comprehensive frameworks to understand user content discovery, listening habits, and peer engagement.
Design and execute experiments to improve user experiences and derive clear strategic recommendations.
Shape the analytical approach for emerging social features, defining and measuring healthy community interactions.
Develop a deep understanding of creator and artist success to drive platform creator programs and incentives.
Surface key insights that connect content, social dynamics, and creator activities.
Collaborate closely with product, business, and music teams while contributing to the data science infrastructure.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science roles, ideally within content platforms, social products, or creator ecosystems.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and statistical modeling techniques.
Proven expertise in designing and running experiments to generate actionable insights.
Strong strategic thinking regarding content ecosystems and overall platform health.
Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
Self-starter mentality with the ability to navigate ambiguity, wear multiple hats, and pursue continuous learning.
Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
