Role Overview

DuckDuckGo is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to work on the Data Science Functional Team. This remote role focuses on statistical modeling, experiment design, Bayesian marketing analysis, and classifier implementation across search engines, instant answers, revenue optimization, and AI products.

Key Responsibilities

Define core growth metrics and build monitoring infrastructure for trend and anomaly detection
Measure major marketing campaign impacts for Duck.ai and translate full-funnel data into decisions
Build monitoring pipelines to rapidly and reliably detect unexpected shifts in search traffic patterns
Expand evaluation datasets for page context understanding across complex multi-tab browsing and content reattachment scenarios
Improve trigger systems determining when AI-assisted answers appear in search while balancing quality and privacy

Requirements

7+ years of experience in Data Science with a track record of leading high-complexity projects from scoping to production with minimal direction
Proficiency in at least two areas: deploying and iterating on production ML, developing and deploying NLP solutions, applying LLM knowledge (fine-tuning, LLM-as-judge, AI-assisted development), or conducting Bayesian marketing campaign analysis
Production-grade coding skills in Python or a comparable high-level language
Advanced SQL and query optimization skills with familiarity in columnar databases like BigQuery, Clickhouse, Redshift, or Druid
Ability to design, implement, and analyze experiments across product surfaces with sparse or privacy-constrained data
Collaborative approach when working with product teams to contribute to overall team throughput

Nice to Have

Experience with a Business Intelligence tool such as Tableau or PowerBI
