The team builds high-scale data platforms and products, alongside backend systems and data infrastructure that power internal products, APIs, event pipelines, and external integrations. Processing data from a user base exceeding 1.7 million daily active users, the engineering group delivers multi-system features including APIs, data pipelines, and LLM-backed workflows that maintain production reliability.
As a Senior Data Platform Engineer at Connecteam in Tel Aviv, the incoming specialist will design and ship LLM and agent features, develop internal tools for business teams, and build scalable backend services. Daily responsibilities include operating in real-time, event-driven environments, managing data pipelines, and utilizing coding agents to accelerate delivery while maintaining strict production standards.
Ideal candidates bring substantial backend engineering experience and Python proficiency, combined with a pragmatic approach to handling high-volume distributed systems and ambiguous business requirements. A strong track record in event-driven architecture, SQL, and modern AI tooling enables the engineer to take ownership of multiple core products and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What you will do
- Develop internal tools and products for teams across Connecteam.
- Build and maintain services and APIs that support complex, multi-step workflows.
- Operate in a real-time, event-driven environment at high volume.
- Create and manage data pipelines, including the checks that keep data trustworthy.
- Design and ship LLM and agent features such as tool use, prompts, evaluation, and cost, latency, and quality limits.
- Use coding agents as part of normal delivery to raise the quality of generated output.
- Take ownership of multiple systems and products in a multi-cloud environment.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into a technical plan and lead it through to production.
What you need
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
- At least 8 years of proficiency in Python, or deep backend experience with a fast ramp onto Python.
- Proven experience writing and maintaining services and REST APIs in production at scale.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven development.
- Daily use of LLMs and coding agents in building software.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments including Azure, GCP, and AWS.
