Developing internal tools, scalable APIs, and event-driven data pipelines forms the core of daily engineering tasks at Connecteam. The backend platform team constructs the foundational infrastructure and internal products that other departments depend upon, processing data from more than 1.7 million daily active users. Engineers tackle multi-system architectures, managing everything from standard service endpoints to production-grade LLM-backed workflows and autonomous agents.
Applicants should bring extensive backend experience and a strong background in Python development at scale. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment where ambiguity is translated into concrete technical execution, taking full ownership of multiple production systems across multi-cloud environments.
What you will do
- Develop internal tools and products for various teams across the company.
- Build and maintain robust services and REST APIs that support complex, multi-step workflows.
- Operate within a real-time, event-driven environment handling high data volume.
- Create and manage data pipelines while implementing checks to ensure data trustworthiness.
- Design and ship LLM and agent features involving tool use, prompts, and evaluation.
- Utilize coding agents during normal delivery to improve the quality of shipped code.
- Take end-to-end ownership of multiple systems and products in a multi-cloud environment.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical plans and drive them to production.
What you need
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience working as a backend engineer.
- Proficiency in Python with at least 8 years of use, or deep backend experience allowing for a fast ramp-up.
- Proven track record of writing and maintaining production services and REST APIs at high scale.
- Strong SQL expertise and proficiency in database management.
- Hands-on practical experience with event-driven development architectures.
- Daily utilization of large language models and coding agents in the software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience working within multi-cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
