About this role
Antenna needs to guarantee the accuracy and scalability of its core Subscriber Metrics, which power the industry benchmark data for the streaming wars. Solving this challenge requires a senior engineer to own pipeline reliability and integrate complex data models across the analytics stack.
The incoming engineer will build, orchestrate, and maintain production pipelines while partnering closely with Data Operations and Data Science teams. Responsibilities include defining requirements with stakeholders, establishing best practices for specialized datasets, and serving as the subject matter expert for the main delivery pipeline.
Ideal candidates bring a solid programming foundation in Python and SQL alongside hands-on cloud platform experience in GCP, BigQuery, and dbt. A successful hire will combine technical rigor with strong cross-functional communication to maintain trusted data systems that external media brands rely on daily.
What you will do
- Build, orchestrate, and maintain data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using BigQuery, dbt, PySpark, Parquet, and Dagster.
- Develop a deep understanding of core data models to collaborate effectively with the Data Science and Data Operations teams.
- Partner with cross-functional groups to maintain datasets that are trusted, well-understood, and enable self-service analytics.
- Work with various stakeholders to derive, define, and simplify requirements for complex data problems.
- Establish best practices for developing specialized datasets intended for modeling and analytics.
- Document and explain intricate technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
What you need
- Bring five or more years of software engineering experience, including at least three years focused specifically on data infrastructure or platform engineering.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience building production pipelines in a modern cloud data warehouse using dbt, SQL, or Spark alongside an orchestrator like Dagster or Airflow.
- Possess strong expertise in SQL and at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Python.
- Independently navigate complex and unfamiliar systems to identify and resolve difficult engineering problems.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with cross-functional teammates and stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong focus on the testability and reliability of data systems.
- Demonstrate advanced English proficiency at the B2 to C1 level.
