Role Overview

The selected candidate will take ownership of API development, backend modules, and database architecture to support millions of global users. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, reliable backend infrastructure while working completely on-site in Geneva.

Key Responsibilities

Design, construct, and maintain critical backend systems capable of handling high-volume requests.
Create robust APIs and web services to support frontend applications.
Build backend infrastructure for AI-powered capabilities, integrating large language models and machine learning workflows.
Diagnose and eliminate performance bottlenecks in a high-traffic environment.
Refine database queries and system architecture to accommodate rising user demand.
Deploy and manage services utilizing containerisation technologies.
Participate in on-call rotations to guarantee system reliability and address production issues.

Requirements

Three to five years of background in backend software engineering, preferably within a SaaS or technology-focused setting.
Advanced proficiency in Python programming.
Hands-on expertise with databases and complex data structures including Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and MariaDB.
Familiarity with leveraging AI-assisted development tools while retaining deep comprehension of core code.
Extensive Linux knowledge and practical experience.
Sound grasp of microservices architecture, web servers, HTTP, and REST.
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
Acquaintance with CI/CD workflows and build systems.
Competence in producing clean, tested, and scalable code.
Excellent problem-solving abilities paired with meticulous attention to detail.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
