The GTM AI Agent Platform is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to help build autonomous sales agents in New York City or remotely. This role suits an experienced engineer with a passion for agentic workflows who wants to drive product direction in a fast-paced startup environment.

Role Overview

The Senior AI Engineer position involves designing and developing the foundational intelligence that powers sales agents across chat, voice, email, and meeting assistants. Operating within a compact, senior-level engineering group in downtown Manhattan, the professional joining this team will directly influence architectural decisions and system capabilities. Spara offers a hybrid work structure requiring three days in the World Trade Center office, paired with remote flexibility on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and refine AI systems driving autonomous agents across multiple communication channels and lead enrichment workflows.
Enhance retrieval, ranking, and response accuracy within production environments processing live customer interactions daily.
Develop and scale evaluation frameworks to systematically measure performance across the entire platform.
Deploy code to production multiple times daily utilizing modern frameworks and foundation models.
Build across diverse agentic systems spanning both client-facing features and internal tooling.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience, including dedicated work with large language models and associated technologies.
Prior startup experience demonstrating the ability to move quickly and handle multiple responsibilities.
Comprehensive understanding of the current agentic AI ecosystem and foundation model developments.
Demonstrated capability to push machine learning and artificial intelligence applications to production rather than building isolated prototypes.
Solid software engineering foundations spanning frontend, backend, and data layers.

Nice to Have

Previous background working with retrieval systems, search technologies, or natural language processing.
Advanced degree focused on machine learning or a related technical discipline.
