About this role

The Revenue Operations, Inference Lead position at Mistral AI based in New York is a full-time business role focused on managing commercial operations for inference capacity. This opportunity suits an experienced operations professional ready to build foundational commercial infrastructure connecting technical infrastructure teams with sales and finance.

Role Overview

The Inference business operates differently from standard software models because sales capacity is strictly limited by GPU fleet capacity, and earnings depend directly on the blended cost of GPUs serving each workload. This position bridges fleet management and sales by determining available supply, optimal pricing, and expected financial returns. This represents a foundational build role where the required commercial infrastructure needs to be established from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Build and manage an end-to-end inference demand forecast that integrates pipeline data, contracted commitments, and consumption trends into a forward-looking capacity view.
Combine capacity signals with pipeline demand to identify available inventory, shortages, supply-demand mismatches, and unused capacity.
Translate customer requirements into structured inputs for Data Science and Inference Infrastructure teams to evaluate feasibility and prioritize revenue opportunities.
Publish regular updates to go-to-market and finance teams regarding available supply, market rates, and recommended pricing.
Partner with Finance and Pricing to develop rate cards, target prices, price floors, and discount guardrails.
Build and maintain margin sensitivity models to analyze how workload, utilization, and contract structures impact overall portfolio economics.
Establish commercial telemetry for inference usage, consumption patterns, expansion, and churn signals.
Connect capacity, usage, pipeline, contracts, pricing, and revenue data to build self-serve reporting for leadership.
Manage territory design, ideal customer profile definition, data-driven targeting, pipeline management, forecasting, and compensation plan design.
Track competitive dynamics among inference providers to inform pricing and product positioning.
Drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Data Science, Inference Infrastructure, Finance, and Product.

Requirements

Experience working in revenue operations, business operations, strategic finance, or investment banking within industries featuring variable goods costs such as cloud infrastructure, compute, telco, or logistics.
Strong SQL proficiency and the ability to build independent data models from raw tables to dashboards without relying on a dedicated data team.
Proven track record of building trusted unit economics and margin models.
Technical fluency to engage in substantive discussions with infrastructure engineers regarding GPUs, utilization, serving efficiency, and capacity.
Comfort operating in environments with incomplete data and a bias toward fast execution.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence technical and commercial teams.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with the inference market, including provisioned throughput, per-token pricing, and batch versus real-time serving.
Experience working with consumption- or usage-based revenue models.
Familiarity with Salesforce, BigQuery, and business intelligence tools like Metabase.
Experience serving as a trusted bridge between technical and commercial teams.
