Role Overview

As a Project Controls Analyst, this position focuses heavily on project tracking, forecasting, performance monitoring, variance analysis, and corrective actions. Reporting directly to the Project Control Manager, the person in this role works closely with the procurement, accounting, and finance departments to support project managers and teams across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities

Generate project financial reports that follow established project controls best practices.
Verify cost allocation accuracy and monitor purchase orders for proper cost coding.
Audit subcontractor invoices for precision.
Partner with project managers and engineers to build project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
Track actual project expenditures and Estimate at Completion (EAC) values against baseline budgets.
Monitor operational progress against key milestones while flagging potential risks and issues.
Deliver consistent status reports regarding budget, schedule, and overall progress to stakeholders and project managers.
Manage and maintain organized project documentation.
Evaluate cash flows, estimates, contract terms, and change orders for financial risks and opportunities.
Leverage appropriate data, reports, and analytical tools for benchmarking and evaluation.

Requirements

Possess two to five years of professional experience in financial analysis or cost controls.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Show the ability to multitask and manage competing responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
Maintain a high level of professional conduct.
