Role Overview

PlayOn! Sports is hiring a Product Manager, Applied AI & CV for its Pipelines team to oversee how data from artificial intelligence models and external vendors is stored and delivered. The position involves operating in a technical environment that combines frontier AI providers, company-hosted infrastructure, and a sports computer vision vendor landscape. The person in this role will evaluate external vendors, design data pipelines, and collaborate with engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate external vendors for their ability to deliver player highlights across new sports and build the corresponding product pipelines.
Design data pipelines that disseminate and govern complex artificial intelligence and computer vision data to customer-facing business units.
Manage day-to-day relationships with computer vision vendors like MaxPreps Advantage and Pixellot, coordinating testing, releases, troubleshooting, and tracking performance for future renewals.
Define requirements and quality standards for incoming video, metadata, and third-party intelligence, establishing methods for rapid issue detection.
Design and own data delivery to internal teams via application programming interfaces, events, and other interfaces.
Prioritize and sequence the sport-by-sport roadmap across football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, and external vendors.
Partner with the Streaming Intelligence Product Lead, Pipelines Engineering Lead, Pipelines Project Manager, Vision team, downstream product teams, and external vendors.

Requirements

Three or more years of product management experience, specifically working with technical, data, application programming interface, or platform products.
Technical fluency to read application programming interface documentation, understand data flows and integration issues, and communicate problems to engineers and partners.
Experience owning an application programming interface, data product, or technical product serving internal or external customers.
Experience managing multiple external partners or vendors and holding them accountable to defined requirements and commitments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for translating technical information for varied audiences.
Proactive approach to product and data quality through monitoring and validation.
Curiosity about team sports and willingness to develop sport-specific knowledge.

Nice to Have

Experience in sports, media, or streaming.
Exposure to computer vision, machine learning, or artificial intelligence-powered products.
Experience reviewing vendor contracts, service level agreements, or technical integration agreements.
