About this role

Financial management for the training business involves building and maintaining cost-to-serve models across compute, delivery time, and reserved capacity while tracking capacity utilization and tying capacity plans to the pipeline. Strategic finance professionals joining the product finance team take ownership of the economics of Training end to end and act as the finance owner for new product lines from idea through launch and scale. Daily duties include running monthly business reviews, managing forecasts, and partnering directly with product, engineering, infrastructure, and go-to-market leadership on pricing, margin, and capacity decisions.

Baseten powers mission-critical inference for dynamic artificial intelligence companies by uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling. The growing team recently raised a Series F funding round led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital to help build the platform engineers use to ship AI products. This builder role requires establishing new models, dashboards, and processes from scratch in a fast-scaling infrastructure environment.

Candidates best suited for this position possess five to eight years of experience across strategic finance, investing, or investment banking. A strong candidate demonstrates exceptional financial modeling abilities, a bias toward ownership, and the capacity to make decisions with incomplete data in a fast-moving setting.

  • Establish clear success metrics and scale criteria for products at the time of launch.

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
