About this role

Taking ambiguous projects from initial concept to tangible impact, this engineer builds and iterates on systems that millions of learners rely on. The daily work involves partnering closely with product, design, and engineering teams to prototype rapidly, influence technical direction, and manage scalable services. Team members operate in an AI-native environment where agentic coding tools and large language models form the core of the everyday workflow.

DataCamp operates as a trusted partner to millions of learners and thousands of companies, addressing critical global skills gaps. The team functions with high autonomy, relying on fast feedback loops and metrics to guide product decisions rather than processing standard ticket queues. An ideal candidate brings extensive software engineering experience, a strong product mindset, and deep daily familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools.

What you will do

  • Manage product and platform initiatives completely from conception through release, measurement, and iteration.
  • Contribute directly to the technical architecture and long-term direction of core platform systems.
  • Maintain the reliability, scalability, and observability of deployed services, including those driven by large language models.
  • Drive high engineering standards across testing, code quality, and maintainable system design.
  • Leverage user feedback, data, and performance metrics to prioritize and determine upcoming product features.
  • Support the professional development of teammates through code reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance.

What you need

  • Bring seven or more years of software engineering experience building applications across the full stack.
  • Demonstrate hands-on background working within start-ups, early-stage ventures, or small company environments.
  • Possess at least six months of daily, practical use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code and Codex.
  • Show expert-level understanding of microservices architecture and modern application programming interface design.
  • Display a history of independently resolving complex, ambiguous problems through both greenfield development and system improvements.
