About this role
Managing the operational complexities of audio data handling across multiple complex deployment models requires a dedicated expert who can map exact data flows and ensure compliance. This role exists to bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, turning intricate architectural details into repeatable, verifiable privacy artifacts that Legal, Engineering, and Sales Engineering can rely on.
Working alongside the Director of Information Security, this individual operates at the intersection of privacy compliance and technical execution. The daily routine involves designing privacy controls, conducting risk assessments, acting as the technical voice in customer reviews, and partnering closely with engineering teams to prove compliance without needing to write the engineering code directly.
An ideal candidate brings substantial experience in privacy operations, possesses the technical fluency to read architecture diagrams and trace data through bare-metal datacenters, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where AI tools and rapid evolution are standard operating procedure.
What you will do
- Manage customer and prospect privacy risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, and vendor due diligence calls from start to finish.
- Develop and maintain precise data flow maps and records of processing across hosted, dedicated, and self-hosted environments.
- Translate major privacy laws and emerging AI regulations into actionable requirements for engineering and go-to-market teams.
- Define product and infrastructure privacy requirements including data retention, telemetry logging, and training-data lineage.
- Specify, test, and audit the operating model for privacy controls while partnering with engineering teams on building the underlying systems.
- Design and execute operational auditing workflows to proactively catch drift between stated privacy claims and actual practices.
- Produce internal playbooks, self-service guidance, and training materials for engineering, support, and sales engineering teams.
What you need
- Demonstrated background in privacy operations, legal operations, or technical privacy and compliance with experience running assessments independently.
- Proven ownership of privacy operational systems at scale such as data maps, DSAR workflows, and retention processes.
- Technical fluency to comprehend architecture diagrams, infrastructure data flows, log lines, and retention settings without translation.
- Applied working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and current trends in global AI regulation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with enterprise privacy teams and data protection officers during high-stakes reviews.
- Strong written communication skills for creating clear documentation utilized by customers, auditors, and engineers.
- Commitment to automating processes and documenting work to avoid becoming an operational bottleneck.
Nice to have
- CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, or equivalent certification
- Comfort reading code or scripting custom tooling
- Familiarity with on-premise or colocation infrastructure and containerized workloads
- Experience with machine learning and AI data pipelines
- Exposure to formal audits including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA
