Key Responsibilities

Design and shape the overall architecture for the data transformation and retrieval platform.

Lead Kubernetes orchestration, cluster design, reliability, and performance optimization across the organization.
Direct Python architecture standards to ensure high modularity and maintainability throughout services.
Optimize Postgres schemas, queries, and indexing methods to handle heavy metadata and retrieval pipelines.
Guide and mentor senior engineering colleagues through comprehensive code reviews and design sessions.
Collaborate closely with product and infrastructure departments to move research prototypes into production.
Assess new open-source tools and emerging technologies relating to LLM infrastructure and orchestration.

Requirements

Bring ten or more years of professional software engineering experience centered on distributed systems, data architecture, or infrastructure.
Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Python for building performance-critical services and frameworks from the ground up.
Possess advanced Kubernetes skills with the ability to deploy, design, and debug complex clusters at scale.
Show strong fluency in Postgres, including expertise in query planning, tuning, and partitioning for high-throughput use cases.
Maintain a passion for clean architecture and leading impactful design reviews.
Bring hands-on experience working with high-performance data systems, machine learning workloads, or retrieval pipelines.
Excel within dynamic and ambiguous environments where technical judgment and depth are vital.

Nice to Have

Background in developing or scaling production-ready Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or LLM-backed applications.
Knowledge of vector databases, hybrid cloud infrastructure, or open-source orchestration tools.
Previous contributions to open-source projects focused on Python, distributed systems, or Kubernetes.
