Role Overview

The Direct-to-Consumer platform at Hasbro connects fans worldwide through efficient digital commerce experiences. As Principal Software Engineer, the incumbent will define the technical architecture of the platform, spanning Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce OMS, SAP, Braintree, and identity systems, while directing how artificial intelligence and automation are incorporated across the commerce lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Define the architecture for the global Salesforce-based commerce stack, integrating commerce, order management, data, and fulfillment systems.
Build integration frameworks connecting enterprise systems like SAP, Braintree, and Avalara.
Design event-driven architectures supporting product drops, crowdfunding, digital items, and global fulfillment.
Identify and implement artificial intelligence and machine learning use cases such as personalization, search, merchandising, customer support automation, fraud detection, and fulfillment prediction.
Guide engineers across disciplines toward sound architecture decisions, high reliability goals, telemetry, and observability standards.
Mentor engineers and tech leads across front-end, order management, data, and platform teams.
Evaluate emerging technologies like composable architecture, event streaming, and generative AI to shape the direct-to-consumer roadmap.

Requirements

Eight or more years of engineering experience in large-scale eCommerce or platform systems.
Verified background building and connecting Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce OMS, and enterprise middleware.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, continuous integration and delivery, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
A proven track record of mentoring software engineers and supporting professional career growth.
Strong communication skills capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly to organizational leadership.

Nice to Have

Experience working with SAP, Braintree, or complex order management systems.
Experience integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, or automation frameworks into production environments.
Experience influencing senior collaborators and driving technical alignment across cross-functional teams.

Salary and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $172,600 to $259,000 USD, with the final hiring range varying based on experience, skills, location, and market conditions. Employees may also be eligible for annual and long-term incentives.
