Role Overview

The Principal Product Manager, AI Build Governance is a full-time opportunity based in Bengaluru, India, operating on an office-first culture with three days a week in the office. The position involves defining and delivering governance tooling and controls that integrate directly into the AI development lifecycle, such as prompt writing, retrieval setup, and system evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Define and manage the product strategy, roadmap, and packaging for developer-facing AI governance solutions.
Translate governance needs into technical requirements, tests, and actionable controls for developers.
Supervise the complete developer experience, encompassing SDK design, APIs, documentation, sample code, and CI/CD integrations.
Ensure that early lifecycle requirements carry forward into the build phase and production feedback feeds into future evaluations.
Collaborate closely with design partners and early access customers to validate product direction against active engineering workflows.
Coordinate with Product Marketing and Sales Engineering on positioning, product launches, and technical narratives.
Drive key performance outcomes including developer adoption, integration depth, revenue growth, and retention.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 12 years of product management experience within enterprise software, featuring end-to-end ownership of a technical product area.
Demonstrated history of taking new products from initial concept to a shipped, adopted, and revenue-generating state.
Comprehensive working knowledge of the modern AI stack, including LLMs, model providers, agents, tool calling, RAG pipelines, and failure modes.
Familiarity with AI evaluation practices such as benchmarking, offline and online evaluation, red teaming, and safety testing.
Proven ability to partner with Engineering, UX, Security, and Legal teams while building technical credibility with senior engineers.
Exceptional communication abilities to articulate vision, build alignment, and credibly represent new products.

Nice to Have

Experience creating developer tools or platforms like SDKs, APIs, CLIs, IDE extensions, CI/CD integrations, or testing frameworks.
Fluency in utilizing AI tools for product development, such as code prototyping with coding agents, creating custom evaluations, and shipping AI-assisted workflows.
Hands-on familiarity with AI security and safety controls including guardrails, prompt injection defenses, content filtering, and output validation.
Knowledge of AI regulations and frameworks such as the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO 42001.
Background managing design partner programs, early access programs, or developer relations.
