About this role

Practitioners who thrive on hands-on building, connecting diverse business functions, and turning vague challenges into reliable production systems will find this role a strong fit. Tipalti operates an internal AI Foundry team dedicated to making the organization AI-fluent through direct education, tooling, and comprehensive process redesign.

Working as an embedded partner within General and Administrative operations, this practitioner will identify operational bottlenecks across Legal, People, and Finance. Responsibilities include mapping workflows, prototyping automated solutions using approved large language models and agent frameworks, and guiding internal stakeholders on technology stack consolidation and build-versus-buy decisions.

What you will do

  • Identify operational pain points and inefficiencies within Legal, People, and Financial Planning and Analysis functions.
  • Map end-to-end workflows across different systems to determine where artificial intelligence creates leverage and addresses handoff failures.
  • Prototype, build, and deploy internal solutions using approved language models, agent frameworks, APIs, and custom code.
  • Deliver build-versus-buy guidance that accounts for security, privacy, regulatory compliance, data residency, and resilience.
  • Advise divisional teams on technology stack consolidation, integration seams, and the appropriate placement of automation tools.
  • Design systems for reliability and failure modes by incorporating access controls, testing, logging, and meaningful human oversight.
  • Treat internal solutions as products by defining success metrics, tracking adoption, and iterating based on actual usage.

What you need

  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping hands-on AI or automation solutions such as agents, workflow tools, and integrations.
  • Proficiency in a terminal environment, reading API documentation, and writing or debugging code using languages like Python or TypeScript.
  • Extensive practical experience building with frontier models like Claude, including prompt design, context management, and output evaluation.
  • Strong ability to trace end-to-end workflows across organizational functions to identify redundancy and systemic inefficiencies.
  • Self-directed working style with the ability to proactively uncover problems, set priorities, and operate independently.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with frontline teams, executive leadership, and engineering stakeholders.
