Role Overview

Tipalti is hiring a Principal, AI Transformation to serve as an embedded partner within Legal, People, and Financial Planning & Analysis organizations. The goal is to make internal operations AI-fluent through education, equipping, and end-to-end process redesign.

Key Responsibilities

Identify operational pain points, constraints, and time-consuming tasks within Legal, People, and Finance functions.
Map and solve end-to-end workflows by analyzing cross-functional handoff failures and implementing AI leverage.
Prototype and deploy fixes using approved language models, automation platforms, APIs, data integrations, and code while adhering to security and compliance requirements.
Provide build-versus-buy guidance addressing security, privacy, regulatory compliance, data residency, and maintenance risks.
Advise divisional teams on technology stack consolidation, data ownership, and integration seams.
Design reliable solutions with appropriate failure-mode consideration, meaningful human oversight, testing, logging, and audit trails.
Treat internal solutions as products by defining metrics for success, tracking adoption, and iterating based on usage.

Requirements

Build hands-on automation solutions, agents, or internal tools using scripting languages such as Python or TypeScript.
Demonstrate practical fluency with Claude or equivalent frontier models, including agentic coding, context design, and output evaluation.
Analyze end-to-end workflows across organizational silos to address systematic inefficiencies.
Operate proactively, set independent priorities, and navigate ambiguous situations without constant supervision.
Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, from frontline teams to executive leadership.
Translate vague business requests into clear technical specifications and working solutions.
