Role Overview

Mistral AI is seeking hands-on Pentesters to join the Offensive Security team. The position involves running a maturing offensive solution on real client engagements while hunting for vulnerabilities in internal systems and out in the wild. This unique role allows security professionals to break client systems, discover zero-day vulnerabilities, and help build AI capabilities that automate offensive security at scale. Work directly impacts client security postures and improves Mistral's defensive measures.

Key Responsibilities

Execute client engagements by handling scoping, tooling execution, and result delivery for the offensive security solution.
Triage outputs and eliminate false positives to provide high-quality, actionable security findings for clients.
Advise clients through deployment and remediation stages as a trusted security partner, requiring travel to client premises in a classic consulting cadence.
Pentest internal systems to identify vulnerabilities and hunt for flaws on open-source and in-the-wild targets between client engagements.
Transfer knowledge to the internal security team and act as the first customer for Mistral's cyber harnesses.
Guide cyber harnesses by identifying vulnerabilities they should catch, validating outputs, benchmarking human versus agent performance, and contributing to AI-powered offensive security development.

Requirements

Specialization in web or application security and source-code review, with high value placed on internal Active Directory, cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure, as well as CI/CD and supply chain security.
Senior-level capability to independently run a complete security engagement from initial scoping through final delivery.
Practical experience using AI within daily workflows alongside a nuanced understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
Comfort with client-facing responsibilities, travel, and switching rapidly between multiple projects.
Demonstrated track record of delivering top-tier penetration testing results with strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Nice to Have

Experience building custom offensive tooling to scale impact.
Published CVEs or GHSAs, or a strong bug-bounty track record.
Public recognition in the security community through conference talks, CTF achievements, or research.
Strong code review capabilities across multiple programming languages.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning systems alongside their distinct security challenges.
Contributions to open-source security tools or research projects.
