Role Overview

As a Motion Designer on the brand team at Baseten, you will establish the motion language for the organization across various media. This role requires shaping systems rather than simply producing individual animations, spanning product launches, out-of-home advertising, social video, web, and events. You will collaborate directly with marketing, leadership, product, and brand teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, memorable visual stories that reflect the speed and ambition of the artificial intelligence market.

Key Responsibilities

Shape and evolve the motion language used across the entire Baseten brand.
Produce high-craft motion pieces for web, events, social media, product launches, and massive outdoor campaigns.
Develop compelling video content that translates advanced technical products into engaging narratives.
Manage projects at any scale, ranging from brief social clips to large outdoor takeovers.
Collaborate closely with brand designers to merge typography, identity systems, illustration, and product stories through movement.
Test new techniques, tools, formats, and emerging technologies to explore unexpected creative directions.
Design scalable motion principles and systems for the wider company.
Coordinate with product and product marketing teams to maximize the impact of major feature releases.
Elevate the overall standard of motion craft for all public-facing company media.

Requirements

A standout portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design, motion craft, and high standards.
Solid design fundamentals covering pacing, typography, composition, sound design, and storytelling.
Capability to manage projects from initial concept through storyboarding, design, animation, and final delivery.
Diverse experience spanning campaign work, brand systems, product storytelling, and experimental concepts.
Good judgment to balance clean precision with bold, novel creative choices.
Clear perspectives on brand and motion, with the ability to explain design decisions effectively.
Genuine interest in technical products and the ability to explain complex topics without relying on cliché visuals.
Comfort working independently with high autonomy and navigating ambiguity.
Desire to actively build a brand identity rather than just follow established guidelines.
