Role Overview

As a senior backend engineer, the selected candidate will focus on constructing and maintaining the inference API platform at Home. These user-facing interfaces demand strict adherence to latency guidelines, robust uptime, high reliability, and long-term backwards compatibility. Operating within a distributed systems and networking environment, the professional will build the foundational architecture that powers machine-native intelligence infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and refine user-facing APIs tailored for modern AI inference experiences.

Construct resilient infrastructure capable of serving inference workloads across multiple cloud providers.

Establish scalable abstractions to support evolving business logic and billing requirements.

Deliver emerging model features directly to users.

Collaborate cross-functionally on product and technical designs.

Requirements

Possess at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3 or more years dedicated to backend or infrastructure development.

Demonstrated background in shipping backend services at scale featuring continuous delivery and uptime SLAs of 99.9% or higher.

Practical experience designing and operating developer-facing API services.

Previous involvement in designing storage abstractions for scaled backend architectures.

Familiarity with implementing LLMs and understanding their operational capabilities and limitations.

Mission-driven mindset with a strong sense of personal ownership and teamwork.

A track record of previously building large-scale technical projects.
