Role Overview

As a Member of Design Staff, the chosen professional will take charge of visual craft and product design at Highlight AI. Working in a fast-paced environment, this individual will transform raw interaction ideas and rough wireframes into polished, futuristic, and intuitive interfaces. The position demands high-level execution involving pixels, motion, transitions, and layout systems to make complex artificial intelligence systems feel seamless and delightful.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of visual and interaction quality throughout the Highlight AI product ecosystem.
Engage regularly with users to uncover creative solutions and integrate feedback into designs.
Partner directly with leadership to turn product direction and abstract concepts into high-fidelity user interfaces.
Collaborate daily with engineering teams to bring polished interfaces, animations, and micro-interactions into production.
Build rapid prototypes of artificial intelligence interaction models using click dummies or code to test ideas quickly.
Define fresh interaction patterns that break away from conventional user interface standards.
Maintain a rigorous standard for visual craft, consistency, and accessibility across all deliverables.

Requirements

Proven background in designing desktop interfaces and shipping outstanding user interfaces at scale.
Ability to convert vague wireframes into confident, opinionated, and production-ready designs.
Passion for micro-interactions, motion, spacing, and the intricate details that elevate software.
Comfort working through ambiguity and moving rapidly without sacrificing quality.
Excellent communication skills paired with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
Strong ownership mentality and motivation to take on tasks of any size.
Requirement to work on-site five days a week from the San Francisco office.

Nice to Have

Background in designing native artificial intelligence interaction patterns.
Technical fluency or hands-on experience using tools like Cursor or Claude Code to build prototypes independently.
