About this role

The Marketing Technology Engineer at TRM Labs is a technical role focused on building and maintaining the automation and AI layer of the marketing infrastructure in the United States. This remote position suits an experienced marketing operations professional who possesses strong coding and system administration skills to remove manual work and ensure reliable data output.

Role Overview

The Marketing Technology Engineer owns the operating layer for marketing's agent fleet end to end, which includes provisioning, output verification, monitoring, alerting, and incident response. This position sits inside the marketing function and requires a blend of hands-on technical execution and deep marketing judgment. The person in this role designs and builds agentic processes, skills, and automations that eliminate manual tasks while ensuring leadership has clear visibility into usage and output value.

Key Responsibilities

Own the operating layer for marketing's agent fleet end to end, verifying real run outputs before considering anything shipped.
Design and build agentic processes, skills, and automations using marketing judgment to decide what is worth creating.
Instrument builds so that usage, output, and value remain visible to leadership, allowing agents to improve through feedback.
Consolidate core marketing concepts across tools and agents—such as territory, lead scoring stages, MQL, MQA, pipeline stages, and targets—to prevent automations and dashboards from disagreeing across product lines.
Manage the MarTech stack configuration, administration, and integration so the campaign execution team can extend workflows independently.

Requirements

Prior marketing or marketing operations experience, including a solid understanding of funnel and attribution logic, lead scoring, send-cadence, deliverability norms, list hygiene, and consent rules.
Personal experience operating something unattended, such as a pipeline, integration, or agent that ran independently and taught the importance of verifying output over trusting a green status indicator.
Track record of building production automation inside a Go-To-Market function using tools like Clay, Zapier, Workato, or n8n.
Evidence of moving from no-code stitching into code and repository practice, including version control, code review, CI, testing, and deployment into a shared repository.
Technical baseline featuring working proficiency in SQL and Python, solid REST API fundamentals, familiarity with secrets management for credentials and API keys, and data-warehouse fluency in tools like BigQuery.
Hands-on administration experience with HubSpot and Salesforce.

Nice to Have

Direct experience with Claude or n8n.
Experience building multi-step enrichment waterfalls in Clay or similar platforms.
Exposure to observability or data-quality practices such as monitoring, alerting, freshness, and anomaly checks.
Experience supporting multiple product lines where the same metric must remain correct across different motions simultaneously.
