About this role

Evaluating data quality, building analytical models, and preparing decision briefings for senior leadership form the core daily work for this position. The team integrates production, supplier, schedule, and quality data to identify constraints, trends, and emerging risks affecting weapon-system output. ACT1 Federal needs a knowledgeable subject matter expert to pilot and govern targeted artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics applications for defense priorities.

The person who succeeds in this role brings extensive experience applying quantitative analysis to complex manufacturing and supply-chain problems. Candidates must translate technical findings into practical recommendations while coordinating analytical requirements across multiple program offices and industry stakeholders. A background in data science, operations research, or a related discipline is essential for driving these defense and security initiatives.

What you will do

  • Integrate and analyze production, supplier, schedule, and financial data to identify constraints and risks affecting weapon-system output.
  • Develop analytical models, dashboards, and forecasts for throughput, cycle time, lead time, and supplier performance.
  • Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and optimization methods to support production-recovery and supplier-capacity decisions.
  • Assess data quality, lineage, and analytical limitations to distinguish validated evidence from incomplete reporting.
  • Create repeatable analytical methods and decision-support products that help prioritize constraints, investments, and interventions.
  • Prepare dashboards, analytical assessments, forecasts, issue papers, and decision briefings for senior Government leadership.
  • Coordinate analytical requirements and findings across program offices, systems commands, engineering, and industry stakeholders.

What you need

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in data science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, operations research, analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Possess ten or more years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, operations research, AI/machine learning, manufacturing analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrate experience applying quantitative analysis to complex manufacturing, production, supply-chain, industrial-base, or defense problems.
  • Show hands-on experience with predictive models, forecasts, dashboards, performance indicators, statistical analyses, or optimization tools.
  • Prove the ability to evaluate data quality and translate technical findings into practical recommendations tied to measurable outcomes.
  • Have experience preparing analytical assessments, visualizations, and executive decision materials for Government or industry leadership.
